It can cost up to $1,000 for a student to attend the Physics and Astronomy Congress, sometimes more. Member donations go a long way toward making this life-changing experience accessible to all. Donate to SPS at students.aip.org/congress
Exhibit at the Grad School Fair & Expo Hall*
Are you looking for awesome students to join your graduate or research program? Do you help recruit for your company? Do you have products or programs to share with physical science undergraduates? If so, get a booth in the exhibit hall! The Physics and Astronomy Congress is the largest gathering of undergraduate students in physics and astronomy in the country, and they’ll be eager to network and explore new opportunities! Visit students.aip.org/congress
Judge Posters or Artwork
We need your expertise! Sigma Pi Sigma members and alumni are invited to volunteer as judges for the undergraduate poster and art submissions. Virtual judges review and evaluate submissions online before the congress—an opportunity perfect for those unable to attend. In-person judges engage with students and experience their presentations firsthand at the congress.
Judges make a meaningful impact by providing valuable feedback to the next generation of physicists and astronomers. Help us celebrate their creativity, innovation, and research accomplishments! To volunteer as a virtual or in-person judge, email SPS-Programs@aip.org
Network with Fellow Alumni*
Mingle with physics and astronomy alumni from all walks of life at the Sigma Pi Sigma networking event, also held on Saturday, November 1, 2025. If interested in attending, please fill out the form at https://forms.gle/nyQHfAwBkMrY9zLS6
Share a Meal with Students*
On Saturday, November 1, a chair will be reserved for a scientist or STEM professional at each congress lunch table—help us fill the chairs! As students share lunch and informative conversation, they can network, meet potential mentors, and learn more about what they can do after graduation. In the meantime, volunteers can enjoy a tasty way to give back to the community, support students, and maybe even meet their next mentee, intern, graduate student, or employee! Learn more at students.aip.org/congress
Volunteer for a Career or Graduate School Panel*
Offer your advice and words of wisdom to students by participating in a panel on industry, graduate school, careers in medical physics, or another topic (see page TK for a full list). To volunteer, email SPS-Programs@aip.org
All students, mentors, and alumni are encouraged to attend the entire conference, including the plenary talks, workshops, breakout sessions, and tours over the three-day congress. The 2025 Physics and Astronomy Congress will be an event like no other—you don’t want to miss out!
