Zone and Chapter: University of Northern Iowa

I am a junior physics major with a mathematics minor at the University of Northern Iowa. I play bass in jazz band and I also play the guitar. I have also been involved in math club, Women in STEM club, the UNI Honors Program, Sigma Iota, and UNI Physics Club. I have served as the secretary/treasurer of UNI’s SPS chapter and I will be co-president for the 2020-21 school year! Over the summer of 2019, I conducted research on building a device that controls the electrochemical etching of Scanning Tunneling Microscope tips. After graduation from UNI, I plan to obtain a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics. I am interested in developing new tools to investigate the properties and behaviors of new materials including semiconductors and superconductors.
