About the Recipient

Zone and Chapter: Abilene Christian University

I’m an upcoming senior at Abilene Christian University majoring in Physics with minors in computer science and mathematics. I have been involved with SPS since my freshman year and was the president for our chapter this past academic year. My work thus far entails working at Fermilab for the past two summers on nuclear physics research and assisting a professor with analysis of a Magnetic Optical Trap (M.O.T). My upcoming work will be studying novel data unfolding techniques for jet hadronization for the STAR experiment in Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) with Monte Carlo simulations which will carry on through my senior year. I enjoy tutoring those who need help, finding ways to provide science outreach to our local community and rural communities across Texas. Outside of academics, I relish in playing basketball, running, hiking and messing around with anything I find interesting. Following graduation, I intend to pursue a doctoral degree in Physics in either Nuclear physics or Applied Physics.
