About the Recipient
Zone and Chapter: Austin College
Deedee Jansen is a dedicated student majoring in Engineering Physics and Theater with a minor in Mathematics at Austin College. Her passion for physics shines through her active involvement with the Society of Physics Students (SPS), where she has served as Treasurer, President, and now Associate Zone Councilor for Zone 13. Deedee is also a Teaching Assistant for an introductory physics class, continuing the tradition of welcoming new students into the SPS community. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is passionate about community service and science communication, organizing outreach events to inspire and educate others. Balancing her dual majors and minor, Deedee blends scientific inquiry with artistic expression.
