About the Recipient

Zone and Chapter: Tarleton State University

I am currently a junior pursuing dual majors in physics and mathematics at Tarleton State University in Texas. I have been involved in SPS since my freshman year, serving as Secretary/Treasurer my freshman year, Vice-President my sophomore year, and President my junior year. I am also involved in student government as a student senator for the College of Science and Technology. I have worked as a summer science camp instructor, departmental tutor, and supplemental instruction leader. I plan to spend the summer at Texas A&M doing research in nuclear physics as part of a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). I plan to graduate in spring of 2016 with dual bachelors’ degrees in physics and mathematics. After graduation I intend to pursue a doctorate in physics with the goal of becoming a university professor.
