Larra Fouch.
About the Recipient
Zone and Chapter: East Tennessee State University, Zone 8
Larra Fouch is an undergraduate physics student and a Ronald E. McNair Scholar with a strong passion for astrophysics outreach. She has conducted research on the magnetic topology of the massive star Xi1 CMa and developed a pipeline for a high-resolution spectrograph as part of an independent study. Beyond her academic pursuits, she advocates for environmental equity through her work with a coalition addressing light pollution, and she is an advocate for accessible science – empowering others to see themselves in science. This summer, she will participate in a prestigious NASA internship contributing to Europa Clipper research at the University of Oregon. She plans to complete her degree and pursue a meaningful career in research science, where she can continue making an impact through both discovery and inclusion.
