Project Name: Pumpkin Drop
Project Description: During the university’s annual Dad’s Weekend, the club hosted an event where people from the campus and community at large could attend to observe physics demonstrations, play physics games, and decorate pumpkins with science themes, before watching their pumpkins drop from the 12th floor. They also coordinated with the campus Math club where they demonstrated probability through example of the Monty Hall problem. The event was such a big hit it was even shown on ESPN’s highlights for the week’s football game.
