Project Description: The SPS chapter at the University of Richmond held their annual Physics Olympics. 23 teams of 4 or 5 local high school students each, ranging from freshmen to seniors, competed for a variety of prizes in five events. With three experimental and two calculation based events, the challenges were designed to promote teamwork and encourage strategic thinking, all while relying on basic physics principles. Richmond’s SPS chapter ran each event, took photos, and made sure that all of the behind the scenes work was handled effectively.
