About the Recipient

Tim Head received his doctorate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007. Now an associate professor in the Engineering & Physics Department at Abilene Christian University, Tim has been teaching for 7 years, a co-advisor of SPS for 6 of those years, and SPS Zone 13 Councillor for 3 years. My research is focused on solid state physics, especially sound in low temperature crystals and radiation detectors. He is married and has a four-year-old son who keeps him very busy.
