Project Description: The George Washington University’s SPS chapter spent 6 weeks working with Life Pieces to Masterpieces of Washington, DC, a youth development non-profit organization that serves 7-14 year old African American boys. Using funds received through an SPS Marsh White Award, the SPS students were able to provide 6 “mini workshops” covering orbital motion, light, astronomy, rockets, states of matter, and velocity amplification to engage the young men in science.
