Project Name: Tutoring & Demonstration Sessions
Project Description: The City College of New York demonstration and tutoring outreach sessions act to connect K- 12 students from underprivileged, underrepresented communities with physics and physicists. The demonstration events provide a hands-on experience with a broad set of physics demonstrations, introducing participants to the wonder of science. The math and science tutoring sessions with middle school students aim to equal the playing field for low-income students in a country where standardized testing is universal across all socio-economic backgrounds. The events also provide a unique opportunity for volunteers to develop their expertise teaching and presenting STEM.
