Luke is a junior double-majoring in physics and mathematics. He joined SPS at UCI in his freshman year, served as event coordinator in his sophomore year, and is currently serving as president. He is also the co-founder of the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) chapter at UCI. Through planning dozens of academic and social events and running outreach at high schools, Luke is dedicated to building a strong community within the physics department and beyond. Luke is also an active researcher, working in various fields such as magnetic reconnection in plasma physics, self-interacting dark matter in astroparticle physics, galactic astrophysics, and quantum algorithms. In the future, Luke hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in either plasma astrophysics or quantum error correction and become a research professor.
