About
Will Slaton is a dedicated educator and researcher specializing in physics and acoustics. He earned his B.S. in Physics from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in 1996, followed by a Ph.D. in Physics with a focus on Physical Acoustics from the University of Mississippi in 2001. After completing his doctorate, Will spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands, investigating aeroacoustic sound generation.
He later returned to the University of Mississippi to teach for a year before joining the Physics Department at his undergraduate alma mater, UCA, where he has been shaping young scientists’ minds ever since. Will is a strong advocate for undergraduate research, considering it an essential component of a student’s education in any technical field. He also emphasizes the importance of writing and publishing research, seeing it as a vital step in solidifying a student’s experience and contribution to the scientific community.
