TEAM UP Together/AAS Intern
Host: American Astronomical Society, American Institute of Physics (1 available)
This student intern would support
a. ensuring that undergraduate students, especially those in the intended target group of the TEAM UP Together program, are aware of and can benefit from academic and career resources from the TUT Lead Partner organizations. This may include (for example) compiling and disseminating resources and opportunities for students that are generated by the Lead Partners via email, social media, student organizations, etc.
b. ensuring that the activities, events, and web sites of the professional societies (starting with, but not exclusive to, AAS) are accessible to TEAM UP Together students and are aligned with their needs. This may include giving advice and feedback to these organizations (starting with AAS) based on their own experiences as a student and professional society participant.
c. Any other aligned activities that can help students benefit from available resources and activities at the LP organizations, and/or that can help the LP societies better meet TUT students’ needs.
Mentor Tom Rice would intensively support all of the above and ensure that the intern was well connected with appropriate personnel (who may choose to serve in a co-mentoring capacity if desired) at the other Lead Partners.
