Zeynep "Zay" Bayraktar

Zeynep Bayraktar is a Physics major and Mathematics minor from Izmir, Turkiye, at Miami University. As an Honors student, she is passionate about exploring the world through both science and culture. She considers physics both her major and her favorite hobby. She is actively involved in undergraduate research in experimental AMO physics, where she studies light–matter interactions and quantum photonics. She is motivated by the belief that scientific inquiry is a technical pursuit as well as an ethical and human endeavor. Outside the lab, she enjoys philosophy, photography, reading, journaling, hiking, and powerlifting.
