Ryne Starnes

Ryne Starnes is a senior pursuing a dual degree in Astrophysics and Applied Mathematics at Florida State University. He’s served his SPS chapter for the past two years as Marketing Director and Secretary before becoming the Associate Zone Councilor for Zone 6. Ryne is dedicated to expanding Zone 6 outreach efforts and ensuring chapters are able to give back to their local communities.

At FSU, he works on testing and developing machine learning applications in high energy physics. This past summer, Ryne worked with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Medical Physics in developing automated tools for MRI quality assurance. In the future, Ryne hopes to earn his PhD and work on research involving ML applications in physics.
