About
Dr. Michael C. Holcomb is an Associate Professor of Physics at Angelo State University, specializing in biophysics and granular materials. Their research mostly focuses on identifying intercellular communication via mechanical stress feedback mechanisms during embryonic development. Dr. Holcomb is also Co-PI on a Department of Education funded mid-phase project called STEM And Computing Education Support (STEMACES) which brings hands-on learning activities to 8th grade science classrooms. They earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in physics from Texas Tech University and a B.A. with a double major in physics and mathematics from Austin College. Dr. Holcomb is very passionate about community outreach and is the faculty sponsor for Angelo State’s chapter of the SPS.
