
Jim Borgardt
Current Positions
About
Jim Borgardt received his BS degrees in Physics, and Mathematics, from the University of California at Santa Barbara. At UCSB he also completed a minor in Global Peace and Security, and was a member of the 1988 National Championship team in Ultimate Frisbee. He received his MS and PhD degrees in Physics, with a minor in Philosophy, from the University of Arizona working in ion beam analysis. He joined the Physics Department at Juniata College in 1998, and is currently a Professor of Physics, with a joint appointment in the Peace and Conflict Studies Department. In 2002 he was named a Robert Jay Lifton Fellow by the Jay Jones Center for Terrorism in New York. He was the 2002-2003 AIP Executive Branch Fellow and a Foreign Affairs Officer with the State Department. He is currently a Guest Scientist in the radiochemistry division of Los Alamos National Laboratory organizing international virtual exercises on nuclear forensics.
