About

Originally a history major involved in her local SPS chapter, Elizabeth Hook became a physics major at Rhodes College after her freshman year. Since college, she has been working in the DC area, first with the SPS National office, then with the American Physical Society, and now as a contractor with NASA’s Applied Remote Sensing Training Program (ARSET). She has a passion for helping people learn about science and learn how science can help them do their jobs better. In her current role with the ARSET program, she oversees and manages deadlines for 15 trainings a year, edits and helps scientists develop materials for trainings, and assists the program with other communications efforts. Elizabeth is also passionate about outreach and volunteer work, serving as a pen pal and member of the science advisory committee for Letters to a Pre-Scientist, an initiative pairing scientists with students in underserved classrooms.
