Ph.D., physics, 2016, Stony Brook University, focus on computational condensed matter physics and quantum simulation of liquid water
Postdoc, 2017- January 2019 at the University of Maryland College Park, where I researched applications of machine learning to molecular property prediction and molecular generation and optimization
Since January 2019 I have been working at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center researching applications of Artificial Intelligence and computer vision to radiology and computer aided detection in medical images.

Alum Location: Rockville, Maryland
Education Level: PhD
Disciplines: condensed matter, other

Job Sector: government
Recent position: Staff Scientist [C], National Institutes of Health
Job Description: n January 2019 I started working with Dr. Ronald M. Summers ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Summers , https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=j4cvq80AAAAJ&hl=en) in the department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences in the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda Maryland. There is very little physics in my job, other than understanding the basics of how CT-scanners work (using x-rays and computed tomography). Most of my job focuses on developing tools to assist radiologists. Presently I am working on a tool that automatically measures bone mineral density. Future work that I am starting now will focus on things such as using deep learning to automatically detect tumors and lesions throughout the body (“whole body lesion detection”).
